A Google Analytics consultant for tracking you can actually trust
If your ad platforms count the wrong conversions, they optimise for the wrong people. We set up tracking so Google, Meta and you see the same, correct numbers.
What our tracking setup covers
GA4 setup and audit
Key events, conversions, channel groupings and reports that show what each channel brings.
Google Tag Manager
A clean container with named tags, triggers and a consent setup that respects your visitors' choices.
Google Ads conversions
Enhanced conversions and, for lead businesses, offline conversion import from your CRM.
Meta Pixel and Conversions API
Browser and server events with deduplication, so Meta sees more of your real results.
How we set up tracking
Most setups are finished within two to three weeks.
Check what exists
We test every form, button, call and checkout and compare platform numbers with your real leads and sales.
Build it properly
We set up GA4, Tag Manager, enhanced conversions and the Conversions API, with consent mode where needed.
Verify and hand over
We confirm events fire correctly, document everything and show you where to see the numbers.
Why tracking comes first
Google Ads and Meta ads use your conversion data to decide who sees your ads. When that data is missing or wrong, the platforms learn from the wrong signals. Common problems we find:
- Conversions counted twice, which makes campaigns look better than they are.
- Form submissions or calls not tracked at all, so the best campaigns look like the worst.
- Page views counted as leads, so the platforms chase people who never enquire.
- Different numbers in Google Ads, Meta and GA4, with no way to tell which is right.
Fixing these is often the fastest way to improve results, because every campaign starts learning from better data.
What is GA4?
GA4, or Google Analytics 4, is the current version of Google Analytics. It measures visits and actions on your website and app as events, such as page views, form submissions and purchases. In marketing, GA4 shows which channels and campaigns bring visitors who convert, and it can share conversions with Google Ads.
What a Google Analytics consultant does
A Google Analytics consultant makes sure your data is complete, accurate and useful. As your GA4 consultant, we:
- Audit your current GA4 property and Tag Manager container.
- Define the key events that matter to your business and mark them as conversions.
- Set up clean channel groupings and UTM rules, so every campaign is labelled correctly.
- Link GA4 with Google Ads and import conversions where it makes sense.
- Build simple reports that show cost, leads and sales by channel.
What we track
| Business type | Main conversions | Extra signals |
|---|---|---|
| Lead generation | Form submissions, calls, WhatsApp chats | Qualified leads and closed deals imported from your CRM |
| Ecommerce | Purchases with value, add to cart, checkout | Product data, new vs returning customers |
| SaaS | Sign-ups, demo requests, trials | Activated and paying users |
How to find the UTM source in GA4
Open Reports, then Acquisition, then Traffic acquisition. The table groups sessions by channel; change the dimension to "Session source / medium" or "Session campaign" to see your UTM values. For a single campaign, add a filter on the campaign name. If you see "(not set)" or traffic in the wrong channel, your UTM tags are missing or inconsistent, which is one of the first things we fix.
How to track ChatGPT and AI referral traffic in GA4
Visitors who click links in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot usually arrive as referral traffic from domains such as chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai. In GA4 you can see them in Traffic acquisition with "Session source" as the dimension. To track them properly, we create a custom channel group called AI assistants that matches these sources, so AI traffic shows as its own channel in every report. This matters as more buyers research through AI assistants; see our generative engine optimization service.
Server-side tracking and the Conversions API
Ad blockers, browser privacy features and cookie choices stop some browser-based tracking from working. Server-side tracking sends conversion events from your server instead of the visitor's browser. The Meta Conversions API and Google's enhanced conversions use it to recover conversions that would otherwise be lost, while respecting consent.
Privacy, cookies and consent
GA4 uses first-party cookies to recognise returning visitors. We set tracking up to follow your visitors' consent choices, using a consent banner and Google's consent mode where your markets require it. We only collect what is needed to measure your marketing.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Google Analytics consultant do?
A Google Analytics consultant sets up and audits GA4 and Tag Manager, defines the events and conversions that matter, fixes campaign tagging and builds reports that show what each channel brings.
What is conversion tracking?
Conversion tracking records valuable actions on your website or app, such as a purchase, form submission or call, and links them to the ad or channel that brought the visitor.
What is GA4?
GA4 (Google Analytics 4) is the current version of Google Analytics. It measures website and app activity as events and shows which channels bring visitors who convert.
Can GA4 track traffic from ChatGPT?
Yes. Clicks from ChatGPT usually arrive as referral traffic from chatgpt.com. We set up a custom channel group so AI assistant traffic shows as its own channel.
Do I need Google Tag Manager?
It is not required, but it makes tracking much easier to manage. One container holds all your tags, so changes do not need a developer each time.
What is the Meta Conversions API?
It is a way to send conversion events to Meta from your server rather than the browser. Used together with the Meta Pixel, it gives Meta a more complete picture of your results.
Will tracking slow down my website?
Done properly, no. Tag Manager loads tags efficiently, and server-side tracking can reduce the scripts that run in the visitor's browser.
