Shopping & Merchant Center

A Google Shopping ads agency that builds on a product feed that sells

Shopping ads show your products with images and prices at the top of Google. They are only as good as your product feed. We fix and improve the feed, then run campaigns structured around margin.

In short: Google Shopping ads show product images, prices and store names in Google search results and the Shopping tab. They are created from your Google Merchant Center product feed. Web Zodiac manages the feed, fixes disapprovals and runs Shopping and Performance Max campaigns.

What are Google Shopping ads?

Google Shopping ads, also called product listing ads, show a product's image, title, price and store name at the top of Google results, in the Shopping tab, on Images and on YouTube. Because shoppers see the product and price before clicking, the clicks you pay for usually come from people already close to buying.

How do Google Shopping ads work?

Shopping ads are built from your product feed in Google Merchant Center, not from keywords. When someone searches, Google matches the search to products using your feed data: titles, descriptions, categories and attributes. Your bid and the product's relevance decide whether it shows. You run them through Standard Shopping campaigns or through Performance Max.

Can you add keywords to Google Shopping ads?

No. There are no keywords in Shopping ads. Google decides which searches your products match mainly from your feed. A product titled with what people actually search for will show more often than one with only an internal name. You can, however, add negative keywords to stop products showing for irrelevant searches.

How to optimize Google Shopping ads

  • Titles: lead with what shoppers search for, such as brand, product type, key attribute, size or colour.
  • Images: clean, high-quality product images without promotional text.
  • Categories and attributes: complete product type, GTIN, brand, colour and size.
  • Custom labels: group products by margin, price band, best sellers or season, so each group gets the right budget and target.
  • Negative keywords: block searches that never convert.
  • Price competitiveness: check how your prices compare, because shoppers see them side by side.

How much do Google Shopping ads cost?

You pay per click, and the cost depends on your category and competition. There is no fixed price. Many stores set a target return on ad spend instead of fixed bids. We work out your break-even ROAS from your margins and set targets above it.

Are Google Shopping ads free?

Shopping ads are paid. But the same Merchant Center feed also powers free product listings on Google, which show in the Shopping tab and other surfaces at no cost. A well-maintained feed improves both paid and free visibility.

Are Google Shopping ads worth it?

For most online stores selling products people search for, yes. They are often the strongest Google channel for ecommerce. They are less suited to custom products with no clear price, or products people do not search for by name.

Common Merchant Center problems

  • Price or availability mismatches between the feed and the website.
  • Missing identifiers such as GTIN or brand.
  • Image issues, such as watermarks or promotional text.
  • Policy issues with shipping, returns or restricted products.

Google Shopping for Shopify stores

Shopify connects to Merchant Center through Google's sales channel app, which sends your products automatically. We check the feed it produces, fix gaps with feed rules or supplemental feeds, and make sure purchases are tracked with values.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does a Google Shopping ads agency do?

It sets up and improves your Merchant Center product feed, fixes disapprovals, and runs Shopping and Performance Max campaigns structured around your margins and best sellers.

Can I add keywords to Google Shopping ads?

No. Shopping ads match searches from your product feed. Better titles and attributes help products show for the right searches, and negative keywords block the wrong ones.

Are Google Shopping ads free?

The ads are paid per click. The same feed also powers free product listings on Google, so a good feed helps both.

Why are my products disapproved?

Usually because of price or availability mismatches, missing product identifiers, image problems or policy issues. The Merchant Center diagnostics show the reason, and we fix the root cause.

Shopping campaigns or Performance Max?

Performance Max includes Shopping placements and is Google's main option for most stores. Standard Shopping campaigns still help when you need more control over specific products.

Do you work with Shopify feeds?

Yes. Shopify, WooCommerce and most platforms can send a feed to Merchant Center, and we improve it with feed rules or supplemental feeds.
